Description: A walk from Ulwell to Ailwood Down and King’s Wood looking at prehistoric features in the landscape such as round barrows, Purbeck’s only long barrow and stone circle. Learn too, about the Mesolithic site at Ulwell, the remarkable barrow by the obelisk and the 7th century inhumation cemetery.

Directions to the Start: Take road out of Swanage towards Studland. Lay-by is on opposite side to Ulwell Cottage and Caravan Park.
Ulwell lay-by, or bus stop close by(Number 50 bus from Swanage to Bournemouth)
